For more than 25 years Dr. Steve Collins has been given Angolans the gift of sight. Each surgery was done by hand under a microscope. His tremendous skill has transformed the lives of thousands of men and woman. Celebrating his 76th birthday, Dr. Collins continues to work tirelessly for the Kingdom of God even though he is well into what many would consider his retirement years.
While Dr. Collins has had an amazing impact on the lives of many Angolans, he brushes away praise and tells us that his life has changed more than the people he treats. The privilege to minister in Angola breathes life into Dr. Collins and he often is challenged spiritually by the godliness of his Angolan patients.
Dr. Collins continues to serve in some of the most remote communities in Angola. He travels to the village with his equipment and performs fifty or sixty cataract surgeries in just three weeks. Along with the hospital community, Dr. Collins prays for a young doctor who will continue his ophthalmology work. The Lord will provide.
